RMWEA Value of Water Documentary Team Visits Green River, WY
From Lagoons to Mechanical Treatment: Green River's Infrastructure Story
At the beginning of April, the RMWEA Value of Water Documentary team traveled to Green River, WY to meet with Jason Palmer and the wastewater treatment plant staff.
Late last year, the City completed a significant transition from a lagoon system to a mechanical treatment facility. The team shared valuable insights from this process—from Mark Westenskow’s experience securing community and council support and funding to the operators’ perspective as they adapted to a more technical, complex treatment process.
We also spoke with Bryan Seppie, General Manager of the Green River/Rock Springs/Sweetwater County Joint Powers Water Board, about both the successes and challenges of operating a regional water treatment system.
This visit highlighted the innovation, resilience, and collaboration required to advance water infrastructure in growing communities.
Thank you, Green River, for sharing your story!
