Bill Martin began his career on August 22, 1966, at the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District and became a member of the Water Environment Federation in 1967. In 2002, Bill celebrated 35 years with the Federation.

Mr. Martin's passion, skills and abilities for the wastewater field were quickly seen as he was promoted to operations supervisor, superintendent, and then to director of Resource, Recovery and Reuse in 1974. He served in this position until his retirement on August 1, 1997.

About Tony

Tony Campman grew up in Sinclair, Wyoming and attended high school in Rawlins.  He attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship and graduated in 1965 with a degree in Chemical Engineering & Business.  He worked part-time for Eimco during college.

After college, he went to work for Eimco in their Research and Development Department.  His first connection to Colorado was in 1965 at the City of Colorado Springs Las Vegas Street Wastewater Treatment Plant.  He collected pilot data that was used to design one of the first large-scale reuse treatment plants in North America.  He later joined the sales department at Eimco and was the Regional Manager for this area.

In 1978, he moved to Colorado to work in an Eimco office in Lakewood.  Eimco decided to pursue the municipal market through representatives and Tony started the Campman Company with Eimco as his primary line in 1989.

It was impossible to be with Tony and not have a good time.  For many years, he was the Master of Ceremony at the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers induction at the annual conference.  His keen sense of humor and wit added a lot to the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association and the water treatment industry.

About RMWEA

The Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association (RMWEA) was founded in 1936. The RMWEA is a member association of the Water Environment Federation, and represents Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico. Formed during the 1936 Annual Meeting of the Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works Association, RMWEA was originally called the Rocky Mountain Sewage Works Association. Through the years, the organization's name has changed and its focus has been to protect the whole water environment. RMWEA is the premiere education and training provider for water quality professionals in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico.

Each scholarship is for $1000, and is given yearly by the RMWEA. The scholarship also entitles the award recipients to a one-year complimentary student or associate membership in the RMWEA.

The awards are based on academic performance and demonstrated interest in environmental protection. The aim of the scholarships is to encourage and provide incentive for capable and motivated individuals to pursue or continue their studies in the advancement of water environment protection and to enhance and promote the quality of their performance as environmental professionals.
