The RMYP organization is pleased to kickoff the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain WEF Student Design Competition! Congratulations to the University of Wyoming for their participation in the 1st Annual Rocky Mountain WEF Student Design Competition. Colleges and universities in the Rocky Mountain region (CSU, CU-Boulder, Mines, and UWyo) have each formed student design teams to compete at the Student Design Competition that will be held in May 2009. The winning team will be supported by RMWEA/RMSAWWA to travel and compete at the national competition at WEFTEC® 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The Metro Wastewater District has provided a design problem for the competition. Representatives at Metro will provide a tour of the facility, design data pertinent for this design exercise, an interim (scoping) design review meeting, and a final design review meeting. The problem statement generally requires the evaluation of alternatives for proposing engineering alternatives for improvement of the Robert W. Hite Wastewater Treatment Facility (RWHWTF). RMYP is currently assembling the judges panel which shall consist of members of the Metro Wastewater District, regulatory officials, vendors, professors, and engineering consultants. If you are interested in volunteering to be judge, please contact the RMYP student liaison, Tye Jordan, at Tye.Jordan@AECOM.com |
