SMALL PLANT MEMBERSHIPS

Application Form

Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association is pleased to announce its new Small Plant Membership Program.  Plants with five or fewer employees are eligible to become Small Plant Members of the RMWEA.

Who We Are

RMWEA was founded in 1936 as the Rocky Mountain Sewage Works Association, and since that time has provided its members with the most current information on water quality issues, technology, regulatory changes, and the latest research developments. RMWEA is a Member Association of the Water Environment Federation, (WEF) an international organization with over 40,000 members worldwide.

RMWEA committees sponsor seminars and conferences in various locations with different formats.  Our Annual Conference includes 3 days of technical meetings on a variety of water quality issues, new technology, and case studies.  Exhibitors show state-of-the-art equipment and services.  The Leadville Operator’s school includes one week of intensive training geared towards plant operations.  Many one-day seminars are also held by Association committees throughout the year.  Training units are available for most seminars and conferences.

RMWEA provides opportunities through conferences, committee activities, and social events to build a professional network.  Participating in RMWEA and WEF activities results in new skills, valuable contacts, information exchange, and new friends.  For more information about RMWEA, please view the enclosed CD which will play automatically on most computers.

The Small Plant Membership Program

RMWEA recognizes that smaller plants face unique challenges when it comes to participating in and taking advantage of professional organizations.  RMWEA also knows that these systems are often the ones that need training and other resources the most.

We know that limited budgets make it difficult for smaller plants to reimburse employees for membership costs.  Smaller plants can also have more mobile work forces than larger plants which can make it difficult to provide new employees with membership benefits.  The Small Plant Membership Program was developed to help overcome these challenges.

Membership Cost:  Small Plant Memberships may be purchased for $115 per year.  A single national PWO membership is $67 and associate memberships in the RMWEA are $35 each.  A Small Plant Membership would cost $207 if all the memberships were purchased individually.  Small Plant Memberships give a discount of more than 55% over individual membership costs.

In addition to being very cost effective, our new Small Plant Membership ensures that all of your employees are members even when new employees come on board and others leave.  Each of the four RMWEA memberships is transferable!

Being a member has its benefits when it comes to registering for training courses, conferences, and seminars.  Member prices are always lower than non-member prices.  For example, our traveling Math and Nitrogen Removal seminars are $45 for non-members, but are only $10 for members.  Attending even one class makes membership pay for itself.

Benefits to the Plant:  Only WWTPs with 5 or fewer employees are eligible to join RMWEA as small Plant members.  Potential benefits to your facility include:

Being able to budget adequately for all memberships.

As a once annual cost, everyone is renewed at once.

Membership cost is discounted compared to purchase of separate memberships.

Allows your facility to transfer RMWEA memberships when employee changeover occurs.

All employees at your facility are eligible for discounts on RMWEA meetings, seminars, trainings, and other events.

WWTP receives one copy of RMWEA publications to be shared by employees.

o        e-RUMBLES, our electronic newsletter send via e-mail every month

o        RUMBLES, our hard copy journal which is mailed out every other month

One employee receives full professional wastewater operator membership (PWO) benefits at the national (WEF) level.  National PWO benefits entitle your facility to a subscription to Water Environment Technology which includes Operations Forum

The WEF PWO membership is not transferable between employees.
