Third Annual Grand

MISCELLANEOUS
The
CDPHE Drinking
Water Excellence Program announces
two new workshops beginning February 2008 for
advanced Colorado water treatment plant operators.
The two-day workshops include interactive, hands-on,
optimization training sessions that will be
facilitated at water treatment plants. The workshops
are offered at no cost to all participants. Please

AWWA Water Utility
Management Institutes - Three
institutes are scheduled for Spring 2008. The
Five-day Basic Institute will be held March 10 -
14, and a second Basic Institute May 12 - 16. An
Advanced Institute is scheduled March 31 - April
4. All institutes will be held at the Comfort
Suites Hotel (near the airport) in Salt Lake
City, Utah. To obtain more information on

The
Fourth Annual Trinidad Water
Distribution Workshop will be
held April 25, 2008 at the Quality Inn in
Trinidad, CO. If you would like to make a 20-30
minute presentation on a water distribution
related topic (water quality, operations, master
plan, modeling, equipment, design, construction,
SCADA, storage, pumping, pipelines, valves, case
study, etc.), please submit a short abstract to
lee.cesario@denverwater.org soon. Training
units will be offered. Speakers will receive
complimentary registration and lunch. If you
are not interested in presenting, watch for the
Workshop Announcement and plan to attend.
Nominations Open for 2008 Public Officials Award

WEF
members, Member Associations and Committees are
invited to submit nominations for the 2008 WEF
Public Officials Award. This award will be
presented at the 2008 National Clean Water
Policy Forum, to be held May 4-7 at the
Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in
Washington , D.C. or at
WEFTEC.08 in Chicago held
October 18-22. Nominations should be submitted
no later than January 18 to Ms. Martha Ravenhill,
Government Affairs Office,
mravenhill@wef.org. If you have
